1st Choice Hearing Benefits is a program designed to keep patient care and hearing aid selection in the provider's and patient's control. With the rise of TPAs, many of your patients with certain insurance benefits have opted to purchase/acquire hearing aids elsewhere because it was in their best interest financially. This could have resulted in them getting devices at facilities that provide sub-standard care. Utilizing 1st Choice Hearing Benefits allows you to offer an alternative option to these patients with certain insurance benefits to keep them in your practice where they can expect the highest possible standard of care.

HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT THAN OFFERING OUR HEARING AIDS AT A LOWER PRICE?
1st Choice is an excellent alternative to simply offering your hearing aids at a lower cost. When retail hearing aids are offered at a lower cost than their retail price in order to keep a patient, they affect the integrity of the pricing structure and can cause distrust and doubt from the patient. Utilizing 1st Choice Hearing Benefits allows a practice to offer an alternative pricing and service model without affecting the traditional retail pricing structure. Alternatively, offering a patient a lower tiered technology because of price concerns is a possible solution, but is not always the ideal solution, depending on the type of intervention that is needed. 1st Choice Hearing Benefits provides a path for lower costs to the patient, and a higher tiered technology and provider fee for the practice.
ARE THERE ANY APPLICATIONS/CLAIMS TO BE FILLED OUT?
There are no special forms or applications when using 1st Choice Hearing Benefits. Patients pay the full amount using certified check, money order or credit card.
WHAT PRODUCTS CAN BE USED?
All tiers of Sonova (Phonak & Unitron), Starkey and Widex. All products come with a 3 year repair and 3 year loss and damage warranty. All products receive one year of professional services included in the price. After Year 1, the patient can purchase a service plan or pay as they go for service (Practice’s discretion).
